This Dodge Pickup truck is a powerhouse of a vehicle, providing stylish design and great engineering features, which is why it has been awarded so many titles, including the best vehicle from Santa from Kelly Blue Book. Even if your not Santa but you still have plenty to transport then the wide selection within the Ram 3500 will surely have you eager to use the one which suits your needs.
The regular cab ST has an impressive 5.7lt HEMI V8 engine and to go with that power there is the antilock braking system which you need for added driving ability in wet and slippery conditions, plus other engineering factors are the dual rear wheels, As for the interior there is much to be impressed by with it AM/FM stereo and CD player and for listening quality all the way round the interior you have four speakers.
As for space internally there is a vinyl 40/20/40 split front bench. The regular cab series also has the SLT which boasts
the same powerful engine with the great style of 17 inch steel wheels with stylish chrome wheel skins and if you think the exterior is remarkable then the interior will be equally so with its front seat centre armrest or business console if you so wish.
If we move onto the Quad Cab ST the same standard engine applies with the essential antilock braking technology, plus this Dodge Pickup Truck comes with a cassette stereo. The SLT in the Quad series has the CD stereo rather than the cassette, personal preference required on this one and like the regular cab SLT it also has the stylish chrome wheel skins.
The Quad Cab is an impressive Dodge Pickup Truck with dual zone temperature control and the engineering technology for the tip start. With these added features that would be enough, well Dodge have also incorporated power adjustable pedals and a great AM/FM stereo with six-disc CD changer, so you and your passengers will be able to listen to your
favourite sounds on long journeys without repetitiveness.
There is still more in this series, you have the powerful Mega Cab SLT with a 6.7 litre turbo diesel engine and internal furnishings provide you with the central armrests or business console and those stylish 17in wheels with chrome clad skin and for those impressive wheels you get the largest brakes in a crew cab.
Mega cab Dodge Pickup Truck also has the 6.7 diesel engine but you get the tip control and the dual-zone temperature control, plus power adjustable pedals, which all aid driving comfort and ability and for your relation during driving you get the six disc CD changer.

The 1987 Chevy Truck or the Chevrolet Trucks were manufactured by the Chevrolet brand under the General Motors Corporation. General Motors, GM in short manufactures cars and pickup trucks under various brand names such as Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Opel, Pontiac etc. The earliest model of pickup truck designed by Chevrolet dates back to 1924. The full sized Chevrolet pickup trucks are known as C/K and they were manufactured in between 1960 and 1988. The trucks were revamped after that to design more powerful and fuel efficient models.
The Chevy trucks had minor changes in them from 1973 to 1980. After dip in sales of pickup trucks in late 70’s the Chevy Truck were massively rebuilt from 1981 to 1988. The fuel economy was increased without reducing the load carrying capacities of the trucks.
This was obtained by designing better aerodynamics for the trucks, shedding extra unwanted weights and increasing the efficiency of the engines. The wind tunnel was reshaped and redesigned to make them more slippery. The compression ratio of the engine was raised to 9.2:1 which the highest in the Chevy Truck engine in ten years.
As a means to fight back the heavy competition in the market from Ford motors the engines were implanted with Electronic Spark Control and with four barrel carburettor to ensure best performance. New aluminium transfer case was fitted in the Chevy Truck so that drivers can change from 2nd to 4th gear at even 25mph. After the K10 and k20 models of the Chevy Truck in 1981 the S10 model with a shorter wheel-base was launched in 1982. The S10 went on to get redeveloped and added with newer features through ’83 to ’87.
From 1982 onwards the 6.2 litre diesel V-8 engine was made available on all models of Chevy Truck. 1983 onwards the Cab models of the trucks were extended in response to the steep competition with Ford who have been offering an extended cab with the trucks from a long time. New additions to the Chevy Truck models were 2.0 litre 83 hp four cylinder engines that became prominent in 1984. New Sports Suspension was added to the S-10 trucks in 1984. The suspensions were gas pressure shocks that were tailored and installed on all four wheels.
Very minor changes were made to the Chevy Truck in 1985 and 1986. The changes were mostly non technical and were in the design of the cars. The 4.3 litre V-6 engine was the new offering in 1985. The front grill was redesigned in all the models in 1985 to give the cars a new look. In 1986 the S-10 was given a throttle body fuel injection system. 1987 was the last year when the light model of the Chevy Truck was designed hence no changes was made to the cars as the new era of heavy pickup truck started from 1988.

Diesel trucks are often more than the sum of their parts. They all have great engines, bulletproof transmissions, axles rated for more than 5 tons of weight, and pickup beds built for loading up and dragging around whatever it takes to get the job done. Naturally, each one of the Big 3 diesels has its own strengths, but what if what you’re looking for in a truck isn’t something that can be sold on a dealership lot?
Ty Freed of Bruceville, Indiana, was in just that kind of predicament. Back in 1981, Ty’s dad bought a Chevy pickup for use around the homestead. Since the day his dad rolled down the driveway in that truck, Ty’s been sold on the ‘73-’87 Chevy. It’s kind of a sentimental thing. So, when it came time to buy a pickup of his own, Ty knew he’d have to take the unconventional path and restore an ‘80 K30 dualie instead of buying a late-model rig. When he tore into the project, he even decided to repaint it in the same two-tone treatment as that of his dad’s truck.

The more you know about Ty, the more his decision makes sense. Ty is a professor at the Vincennes University, where he teaches courses in automotive technology and collision repair. Who better to know the steps it takes to completely strip, rebuild, and repaint every component on the truck until it looked and functioned as good as new. Ty figures he’s put around 1,200 hours of work into building the truck. One of the reasons his buildup took so long is its unique powertrain.
Cummins Engine Swap
Unlike his dad’s old Chevy, Ty’s K30 received some modern updates to ensure that it could ride and drive like a new pickup.
Instead of rebuilding the original gas V-8 engine under the hood, Ty swapped in an early 12-valve 5.9L Cummins with the VE injection pump with an intercooler from a ‘96 Dodge Ram. He built custom motor mounts and mated a Dodge 47RE four-speed automatic transmission behind the Cummins to make the swap go smoother.

Ty’s attention to detail is nothing less than stunning. The engine compartment alone is a work of art. The wiring, plumbing, and integration of the swapped-in Dodge hardware is first class and makes the Cummins, dare we say, look even more at home in this ‘80 Chevy’s engine compartment than it does in the Dodge it came out of.
Work Truck That’s a Work of Art
The rest of the truck is equally as spotless. Rather than turn the truck into a chromed-out show vehicle, Ty took the time to build the truck into something he could actually use. The 1-ton drivetrain was built with heavy-duty use in mind. An aluminum flatbed replaced the bed. Goodyear MT/R mud tires on 16-inch Alcoa aluminum wheels were fitted to give the truck the ability to drive anywhere Ty needs it to go. And for those times when even that’s not enough, a Warn winch was fitted up front to pull him the rest of the way. Kinda makes you wish Chevrolet built them this way back in the ’80s, doesn’t it?

Salt spilled onto the frozen ground as a MoDOT salt truck laid overturned on the side of Route W-W. On the other side of the road, falling ice froze to the side of a red pickup truck with a smashed bumper.
Salt trucks help protect drivers in winter conditions, but even those drivers have to deal with the weather.
On the afteroon of Feb. 11, a MoDOT salt truck collided with a red pickup truck sending two of the trucks‘ passengers to the University Hospital. The Millersburg Fire Protection District responded to the call for a motor accident with injuries, but found an overturned MoDOT truck when they arrived on the scene.
Derek Back was one of the fire fighters who responded to the call, spending two hours in the middle of the road to direct traffic until crews cleared the scene. Back says that while salt trucks are heavy, a slick road makes it possible for anyone to get into an accident.
“This is the first one I’ve responded to in my career, but we hear of it every so often,” Back said. “Heavy equipment dump trucks, salt trucks; it’s a danger for them to be on the roads like this.”
The MFPD responds to an average of 30-50 accidents during the winter season.
“We see accidents like this quite often,” Back said, “Especially when the weather starts to change.”
While the accident occured near Columbia, it was outside of the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department. However, Columbia is working on clearing the roads as well. Operations Manager Mary Ellen Lea says that they are prepared for the weather.
Columbia currently has 17 salt trucks and five smaller trucks to clear the roads. The trucks have a chain system mounted under the axle. When the wheel spins, the chains underneath offer added traction.
Lea said that before the weather comes, the trucks lay just salt. Once the precipitation begins, the trucks lay a salt and cinder mixture for added traction.

Even with a limited number of things to move, your car can be too small and it will take many trips to get all things to another place. Launching trucks9.com has been somewhat of an adventure, and although we have not covered even one percent of our grounds yet, things are moving rapidly. We have established ourselves on the Internet and are quickly becoming known in the business. Working advertising for trucks and trailers in the entire 50 states as our main source of revenue our company is doing well. Our entire sales team is excited and everyone is fighting for the top position as salesmen of the month. As we get out there more and more the name Trucks9 will grow synonymously with the word trucking.
There are a few common problems that many Truckers come across with the motorists.
1. Peek-a-boo! - Now you see them, now you don’t. This peek-a-boo game is very troublesome to truckers. Large trucks have several blind spots which make it hard for the drivers to see other motorists who like to hang out there. The best thing that you can do is either pass the truck or stay a comfortable distance behind them. When in doubt, check for the trucker’s side view mirrors. If you can see them, then chances are that they might be able to see you too.
2. Brake this habit – Many of us at one point or another gets stuck behind a large truck. So the most logical step would be to change the lanes to pass the truck away. No problems with that … the problem lies in a vehicle cutting back into the truck’s lane right in front of them, then braking for a turn or just slowing down, period. What most motorists don’t take into account is that truckers need a lot of space in order to slow down, at least two to three times the amount of passenger vehicles.
3. Teaching a lesson - Some drivers of passenger vehicles like to try and “teach” truckers a good lesson. Several times drivers think that the big Trucks and Trailers are either going too rapidly or slow. So they’ll speed up to pass the trucker and then get back in the trucker’s lane and slow down. Many parents tell their kids, “Worry about yourself,” and it would be smart for other motorists to heed that advice. Leave it to the troopers and policemen to enforce the laws of the road.
4. Back up and try again - In this day and age of technology, people are more accustomed to instant results and hate waiting for anything. Unfortunately, when big trucks have to back into a space, it may take a few tries to succeed. Motorists should appreciate the fact that these trucks are bigger than they are and let the truckers do their job. Patience can be a virtue!
By exercising a little of that common sense, many accidents involving Heavy Duty Trucks and Passenger vehicles could be avoided. That old adage, “It is better to be Safe than Sorry,” certainly applies here!

The customized pickup truck gets its share of oohs and aahs when it’s used by Glendale police for a drug-prevention program taught in schools.
The vehicle, a blue 2005 Chevrolet, has impressed other people as well, police said.
Last weekend, it captured a first-place award during the 39th annual World of Wheels car show held at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
It won best-in-class honors in the category of conservative pickup, 1988 through 2005, said Officer Matt Barnett, a Glendale police spokesman.
The truck is used by police for DARE, or Drug Abuse Resistance Education, a program taught to fifth- and sixth-graders in about a dozen Glendale schools, Barnett said.
The vehicle, which is used to grab the attention of children, features loud stereos, custom paint and even a video-game station.
Children are attracted to the truck and eventually feel at ease about talking to the officer behind the wheel, Barnett said.
This helps to foster a good working relationship as police begin to talk to students about avoiding drugs and staying out of trouble, he added.

Ford’s truck team have redesigned America’s favorite truck inside and out to give customers unrivaled capability, unprecedented choice and a host of smart, game-changing features.
The result is the new 2009 Ford F-150, the new benchmark in the full-size pickup segment from the industry’s truck leader – which has built more than 33 million F-Series pickups since 1948.

The Ford truck team revamping goes from its segment-first features to the tough new exterior highlighted by a dramatic three-bar grille and more spacious, flexible and refined interior, to the unparalleled choice of cab styles and trim levels – including a new Platinum series that redefines truck luxury
- A new high-strength, lighter-weight chassis is the backbone that allows this tough truck to deliver more horsepower, better fuel economy and safety, and additional towing and payload capacity
- In all, more than 1,000 Ford engineers, designers, researchers and others worked together to develop the new 2009 F-150. The team drew inspiration by listening to Ford’s large customer base
- The results will be clear to customers when the new 2009 F-150 rolls off assembly lines at Ford’s Dearborn (Mich.) Truck Plant and Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Mo. – and as the new F-150 goes on sale in dealer showrooms this fall.
Most Choice
- Ford’s truck team designed a truck that offers more choice than any full-size truck on the market. With three cab styles, four box options and seven unique trim levels, the F-150 comes in 35 different configurations to meet the widest range of customer needs and wants – all delivered with quality.
- Customers can choose from the no-fuss XL workhorse, to the sporty STX and off-road capable FX4, to the mid-range XLT. For those looking for tough luxury, Ford offers the high-end Lariat and King Ranch F-150 models.
- New for the 2009 F-150 is the Platinum series, the most luxurious F-150 ever and the answer to a perennial question: Just how high-end do truck customers want to go?
- The striking F-150 Platinum features a satin chrome grille with fine mesh inserts, 10-way captain’s chairs upholstered with top-quality leather, tuxedo stitching and embroidered logos on the seatbacks. Satin gloss Lacrosse Ash wood grain accents and real brushed aluminum panels give the dash, center console and doors an upscale look and feel. Standard 20-inch, 16-spoke polished aluminum wheels give the truck a commanding presence on the road.
- With more customers interested in personalizing their trucks, Ford is offering the largest selection of wheels in the segment with 13 offerings across the F-150 lineup.
- Under the hood, the new F-150 will be powered by three modern V-8 engines, mated to either a 4-speed or a new fuel-efficient 6-speed automatic transmission. The engines include:
- 5.4-liter, 3-valve Triton V-8, which has been optimized for better performance with improved horsepower and torque, and is capable of running on E85 (85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline), regular unleaded gasoline or any blend in between. 4.6-liter, 3-valve V-8, which is new for F-150. Both the 5.4-liter and 4.6-liter 3-valve V-8’s utilize open valve injection. This unique feature improves the flow of fuel into the combustion chamber, which results in an increase in horsepower during towing and reduced emissions. 4.6-liter, 2-valve V-8, a third V-8 choice in the line-up that delivers more horsepower with the same fuel economy performance as the outgoing truck’s V-6.
- This all-V-8 engine lineup delivers a fleet-average 1 mpg improvement in fuel economy versus the outgoing F-150.
Most ‘Smart’ Features
- Ford’s researchers spent thousands of hours listening to truck buyers to gain inspiration for a host of smart new features for the new 2009 Ford F-150.
- It starts with the clever interior, which features a flow-through console that has been lengthened by approximately 2 inches and is large enough to stow two or more laptop computers. Special ridges are molded into the edges of the bin to accommodate file folders. The console also has a multi-tiered, removable tray and locks to protect valuables.
- More than 30 storage areas are built into the interior, ranging from a bin on the top of the instrument panel to a number of small spaces designed to accommodate tools like cell phones, MP3 players, PDAs and gate access cards.
- A redesigned, more ergonomic shifter remains on the console. New, larger buttons and switches are ergonomically designed and within easy reach and view of the driver. A USB port and auxiliary MP3 player input are conveniently mounted on the dash. Two 12-volt outlets are located on the dash and center console.
- Even the pickup box on the new F-150 breaks the mold with clever and capable features the competition cannot match. The class-leading cargo capacity of 65.5 cubic feet is only the beginning of the story.
- The F-150’s pickup box is made easier to use, more flexible and accessible with such new features as Ford’s industry-exclusive Tailgate and Box Side Steps, Stowable Bed Extender and Cargo Management System.
- Other clever features on the truck, including Ford’s Easy Fuel™ Capless Fuel-Filler System. When fueling is completed and the nozzle is removed, the system automatically seals shut, reducing emissions.
- The new 2009 Ford-150 also will allow truck customers to be connected to the world like never before. Ford has been working with Microsoft, Sony and SIRIUS to offer customers leading technologies to help them stay connected with their lives while on the road including:
- Industry-exclusive Ford SYNC™, a voice-activated, hands-free, in-vehicle communications and entertainment system offers even more functionality for the 2009 model year, with 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report. SIRIUS Travel Link™ that when combined with voice activated navigation will provide users with a suite of data services including real-time traffic, coast-to-coast weather conditions and fuel price information for over 120,000 gas stations. Voice-activated navigation that integrates several functions, including voice recognition destination entry, climate control and SIRIUS satellite radio into one easy-to-use system, displaying them on an 8-inch touch screen display. Sony audio system that features 700 watts of power, 5.1 surround sound and 10 Sony speakers and amps and is certified by Sony to deliver a unique, rich listening experience.
Ford says “We know how important the F-150 is to our customers,” said O’Leary. “With the new 2009 F-150, we are delivering a top-quality truck lineup that is second-to-none in capability, features and a range of choices that will continue to make Ford America’s favorite truck.”
